Who we are

Better Aotearoa Limited (operating as Trusty HQ) is the data controller for all personal data collected through this service. The organisation that invited you receives anonymised and aggregated output only. We do not pass your identifying information to them.

What we collect

• Audio of your voice during the conversation (processed in real time).
• A text transcript and structured summary derived from your audio.
• Basic technical data: IP address, browser type, timestamps.

We do not ask for your name, email, or contact details to participate in the survey.

How we use it

Audio is streamed to our voice AI provider (ElevenLabs) to enable the conversation and produce a transcript. ElevenLabs acts as a data processor on our behalf, under contractual data processing obligations, and does not use your voice data for its own purposes. The transcript and summary are shared with the organisation that invited you, in anonymised form. We use technical data to operate the service and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your data to third parties or use it to train AI models without your explicit consent.

Lawful basis

This service is operated under New Zealand law, and your data is handled in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. For participants located in Australia, Australian Consumer Law protections also apply.

Your participation is voluntary and based on your consent, given when you press "I agree, start the conversation". You may withdraw at any time by ending the conversation.

Retention

Raw audio is retained for a limited period to allow quality checking, then deleted. It is not shared with the inviting organisation.

Transcripts and summaries are held for the duration of the survey engagement, then deleted, or earlier if the inviting organisation requests it.

Your rights

You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data by emailing hello@betterandbetter.co. You also have the right to make a complaint to the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner, or to the relevant data protection authority in your country.

A note on anonymity

We do not ask for identifying details. That said, voice is biometric and the content of what you share may be recognisable to the organisation that invited you. We process your audio with care, but we describe this as confidential rather than absolutely anonymous.
